Chris Moore was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. A childhood spent in the pasturelands and woodlands of the family farm instilled a love of the outdoors that remains to this day. He also developed a love of building things from an early age. Chris Moore is the founder of Senior Remodeling Experts and a nationally recognized leader in Aging-in-Place solutions. With nearly four decades of experience in construction and remodeling, Chris became the first Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) contractor in the Roanoke Valley of Virginia. He holds multiple credentials, including CAPS, CGR(Certified Graduate Remodeler) , and an Executive Certificate in Home Modification, and was honored as CAPS Designee of the Year in 2020.
After losing his wife to lung cancer in 2022, Chris realized how short life is and how vital it is to live with purpose. His work revealed society’s negative stereotypes about aging, inspiring his mission to change the face of aging. He combines professional expertise with personal experience to help readers embrace vitality and joy. Chris Moore is a writer and advocate for purposeful aging who believes life doesn’t diminish with time—it deepens. Through his work, Chris challenges the quiet cultural lie that growing older means becoming less relevant, less capable, or less needed.
His passion for reframing aging was shaped by walking alongside people in many seasons of life—listening to their stories, witnessing resilience after loss, and seeing firsthand how wisdom, courage, and contribution often peak later than expected. Chris writes for those who refuse to fade, who know their best chapters may still be unwritten, and who believe experience is not a liability but a gift.
Chris invites readers to reject fear-based narratives about aging and step fully into lives marked by purpose, vitality, and meaning. The work is both a challenge and an encouragement: to live awake, to stay engaged, and to finish louder, stronger, and more alive than we began. Chris strives to amplify those voices that prove it’s never too late to grow, give, and become. Join the movement—start aging out loud today!
