At 71, Sandra has a booming resume writing business, a result from being fired at 58 and running headfirst into ageism. 

Sandra quickly realized her resume was defeating her efforts at finding a job, so she dove into the world of resume writing, took training courses, earned certificates, and launched her resume services business.

Today she helps folks 40+ beat the ATS systems so they can avoid age discrimination and get the job opportunities they deserve.

Her services include resumes for Board Candidates, C-Suite and Rising Executives, and an Á La Carte Menu for a variety of roles!

Sandra Allison

Since growing up in the sixties, Sandra has been passionate about motivating positive societal change. She majored in Journalism in college intending on becoming a news writer, but the 1973-1975 recession sidetracked those goals. She landed in nonprofit management and continued to work for social justice from a different path.

After retiring at 58, Sandra discovered ageism in hiring. Unsure why she was unable to land an interview, she joined a top resume writing firm to discover what she was doing wrong. There, she discovered the role technology plays in modern hiring practices. Sandra spent the following years learning the rules of ATS (applicant tracking software) and its pitfalls of unintentional and intentional bias. She studied how hiring managers read resumes and the “tells” that candidates fall into that reveal information about themselves that can’t be legally asked and how to avoid them.

Now an advocate against ageism in hiring, in 2016, at the age of 63, Sandra founded SA Resume Services. Last year, at 70, she became an LLC. She has written resume packages for clients spanning 31 states and 22 countries over six continents. Since finding her niche in Board Candidate and C-suite Executive writing, she is once again working toward societal change, this time from the top down.
